Professional currency requirements (practice hours)

Occupational therapists applying to register with PEICOT or renewing their general registration must demonstrate currency of professional knowledge and skills.

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

• Completion of the education requirements within 18 months immediately preceding the registration or renewal;
• Active practice of occupational therapy without any restrictions for at least 600 hours within the three years immediately preceding the registration or renewal; or
• Completion of a refresher program in occupational therapy approved by the Registrar within 18 months immediately preceding the registration or renewal.
