Jurisprudence exam

The jurisprudence exam assesses a registrant's knowledge and understanding of specific rules and regulations for occupational therapists practising in PEI.

All PEICOT registrants, except those with temporary registration, must pass the jurisprudence exam within three months from the registration date.

The exam is available through the online registration system (HMS) at no charge.

National e-Learning Module: Competencies for Occupational Therapists in Canada

Occupational therapists practising in PEI are expected to understand and follow the Competencies for Occupational Therapists in Canada. The information in this publication reflects the broad range of skills and abilities required of occupational therapists in Canada throughout their careers.

All PEICOT registrants must have completed the National eLearning Module on the material from Competencies for Occupational Therapists in Canada. Registrants must enter this activity under Continued Education in their online account (HMS) and, as part of the entry, upload the certificate of completion.

The module is currently available on the College of OTs of Ontario website, in English and French.

Online modules: Code of Ethics and Documenting your Practice

All PEICOT registrants must complete two required modules – Code of Ethics and Documenting your Practice. Registrants must enter this activity under Continued Education in their online account (HMS) and, as part of the entry, upload the certificate of completion for each of the two modules.
