Is my OT registered?
When looking for an occupational therapist, it is important to check that they are registered with the College.
In the province of Prince Edward Island, only individuals registered with PEICOT may use the title Occupational Therapist. The College maintains a code of ethics, practice standards, and guidelines that registrants must follow when practising occupational therapy in PEI. These standards are in place to ensure protection to the public through regulation. More information
Registration with the College indicates that the occupational therapist:
- Has met the education and registration requirements,
- Demonstrates continued adherence to the practice standards,
- Respects the public’s right to safe, competent, and ethical care,
- Participates in the Continuing Competency Program, and
- Will be subject to investigation if the College receives a complaint about their practice.
